Update for Adam

Update for Adam

Happy February, friends of Adam!

Adam and I hope this update finds you in great spirits and full of the love of the season.

Our little wildman has had a troubling month. Adam’s medications are simply not helping him the way that we had hoped they would. On two occasions, he was constipated badly enough to require an enema (obviously not a picnic for anyone involved).

We’ve decreased his steroid dose and added in a twice-daily stool softener. It is possible that a diet change may be in Adam’s future as we struggle to find the right course of treatment for our little guy. To his credit, Adam is generally a happy character through it all, but we yearn to ease his angry intestines.

Adam continues to be king of his suite. He is always looking out the window to see who is going by in the hallway. Adam will be getting two new suitemates soon, Macaroon and Lorelai. These two beautiful and extremely friendly girls will have a few lessons to teach Adam, I’m sure. It will be interesting to see if Adam remains king, or if there will be a queen or two usurping the throne of one little tabby man!

Hopefully, Adam’s medications will be straightened out soon and he will be able to relax. Adam spends a lot of time pacing and I have to wonder: is this just Adam being Adam, or does his irritated bum cause him to walk around a lot? I don’t know the answer, and I know Adam won’t tell me, but I wonder all the same.

I keep expecting the Lion King music to play when I see Adam. He is either stalking around the room like the hyenas in the movie, or he is standing on the top of the cubbies like they are Pride Rock and he is about to announce the birth of Simba!

Adam thanks you for all that you do for him. He knows that, if it wasn’t for your generosity, he wouldn’t be able to receive the outstanding medical care he needs. He is forever grateful for what you are doing for him. He wishes you a wonderful Valentine’s Day/month and hopes that it is as lovely as you are.
