Update for Adam

Happy Holidays, Adam lovers!

It has been an interesting month for our little tabby boy. Adam has been both naughty and nice, so Santa is just not sure what to do with him this year!

While Adam would love some little fuzzy mice toys, that may not be in the cards after his treatment of new roommate Jesse. Jesse is the most beautiful grey and white, medium haired boy. He is really sweet, with giant saucers for eyes. He wants to be out and about with everyone and get to know the people that come through Suite A. Unfortunately, our ever-welcoming Adam has poor Jesse scared to death! As Jonathan, our wonderful Founder and Executive Director, puts it, Adam is “incensed” by Jesse’s arrival.

On the nicer side of things, Adam has been friendlier to people lately. I have been in his suite several times when other people have been there as well. He is much more approachable, and he allows people to pet him without any biting or nibbling.

This is a huge improvement for Adam. I can really get close with him now, and he likes to walk across my lap and let me pet the whole length of his body. This is new and very welcome, as Adam has always been somewhat unapproachable. I love loving on him!

In medical news, both Adam and Pepita are beginning a new medication this month. Our Senior Veterinary Technician believes that paraparesis may cause colon motility issues (and, as we know so well, Adam and Pepita have some serious colonic motility issues). We’ve started them both on a medication to help motility, and we’re optimistic this may help them in a major way.

I believe Adam will have all of his holiday wishes come true. As whacky as he is with other cats, he has made great progress this year with people. Hopefully that will work in his favor with the man in the bright red suit!

Adam wishes you a wonderful holiday season, full of cheer. He wants you to know how much he loves and appreciates you. He hopes you get as many little fuzzy mice as your heart desires!
