Happy October!
Adam sends you his love. He hopes you are enjoying this lovely fall weather, and he is looking forward to doing some leaf-peeping from his new solarium in Suite A.
Yes, you read that correctly. Adam has moved to Suite A! Tabby’s Place is undergoing construction of our expanded in-house hospital, and so we’re also using this transition time to relocate some of our residents. Adam’s old room, Suite C, is becoming a Weight Management Suite, while Suite A will house many of our cats who require prescription diets for gastrointestinal issues. Rose has made the journey with Adam, so he has a friend from his days in Suite C.
Although he’s moved down the hall, Adam is as madly high-spirited as ever. (Bonus: his longtime nemesis, Mango, remains in Suite C.) Adam’s also enjoying stable health. The only thing missing from Adam’s new digs is a window — but that’s in the works. Within the next couple of months, construction will be completed on a large window giving Adam and his roomies a view of the side hallway and all the fascinating humans passing through.
Adam has experienced one major loss this month, however. His fellow incontinent roommate Hootz passed away unexpectedly. We miss our dear little Hootie terribly, and I’m sure Adam does as well. She had such an incredible presence in any room that she inhabited that it is hard not to notice her absence.
Adam has so many new roomies to get used to, however, that he has his paws full. He has been a little bit unnerved by all the comings and goings. Lately, when I visit him, he is back to pacing and looking a bit wild in the eyes.
I am hoping that, with a few weeks in Suite A under his belt, Adam will calm back down and we can go back to working on his sweet, calm demeanor. He had made so much progress on allowing me to pet him. He wasn’t using his paws to swipe at me anymore, and he was enjoying just sitting and watching whatever was going on.
Now he is a bit flustered, and he is back to swatting. I will keep working with him to help him feel better about his new room and hopefully calm him back down. I love my boy and want him to feel happy. It will be nice when all of the changes are finished and Adam can just be Adam again with no disruptions.
Well, that is all the news for this month, fellow Adam lovers. Thank you so much for all that you do for our tabby boy. He is doing well and sends you many snuggles with no swats attached!
