Dear Friends of Tux,

Warm laps,

and sunshine,

and bright smiling faces…

These are a few of Tux’s favorite things! [Please sing it out loud to the tune of “My Favorite Things” if you are so inclined.]

Happily, our handsome tuxedoed gentleman has greeted the month in good health and in exceptionally good spirits. Why, you ask?

The recent weeks have ushered in a revival of several things that rank high on Tux’s list of favorites.

Warmer weather (between snow squalls) has met with the return of stroller walks! Tux has enjoyed a few loops around the grounds of Tabby’s Place where he took in a new perspective on the construction. He can’t wait for the expanded sidewalks around our sanctuary to be completed and opened to all. Bursting buds and flitting birds are wonderful entertainment from the Community Room windows which are once again bursting with sunshine.

In accordance with CDC recommendations and internal policies, masks are now optional inside Tabby’s Place. After nearly two years, Tux can once again gaze into the smiling faces of all of his human friends that come to visit and work at Tabby’s Place. I’ve heard several volunteers say how wonderful it has been to snuggle their faces into kitty fur.

With restrictions lifting and infection numbers dropping in our region, Tabby’s Place is once again starting up its Aged to Purrfection program. If you aren’t familiar with this particular outreach program, we have a number of certified therapy cats that will visit local assisted living communities so that residents can enjoy some feline companionship and love. Tux is one of our best ambassadors and was thrilled to make a visit this month to the residents at Brookdale. He enjoyed many warm laps and gentle pets!

All this happy news is possible because of YOU, dear friend. Tux wants you to know that you are also among his “favorite things.” Every day he is grateful that you are there for him no matter the weather or degree of sunshine. Love warms his heart and soul and he enjoys nothing more than spreading love to all.
