Update for Taylor Ham

Dear Friends,

Spring has officially arrived! And with it, lots of birds and critters that land on my favorite, sunny window. I would try to chase them, but that takes energy and effort. I prefer to stretch myself out like a beached whale and rest.

My correspondent recently tried to get me to flip over and show my belly. After all, I was featured in a recent blog as one of the Belly Boys!!  While I have no qualms about showing my abundant belly, I decided to play hard to get. I allowed belly rubs, but sat firmly on her hand and would not roll over. I’m a cat, not a dog. I refuse to comply with demands. 😊

While I still spend a significant amount of time by my favorite window, I’ve been mixing it up recently by lounging in the other beds and cat trees placed around the room. When people can’t imimmediately spot me, I hear them ask, “Where’s Taylor Ham?” I will lazily lift my head to let them know where I’m at.

My skin allergies are in check thanks to my medication. I’ll have another check in a month, but so far, so good. My health and spirits are great.

We’ve had some recent changes in the Lounge. Baby moved to the Medical Suite, where he now hangs out with Steven. And Leo and I got a new roommate named Ruchi. Ruchi likes to hang out in the bathroom. Like me and Leo, he prefers to sleep and lounge all day.

I still love it when the staff eat their lunch in the lounge. The smells are amazing! But I no longer beg for food. With regular meals, I no longer have to worry about seeking out food. That said, I would never turn down a good treat. I’m just too lazy to actually get up and go begging for it. I think this is what is considered a Good Life.

From the depths of my heart, thank you so much for making this good life possible for me. You are the best friend and supporter this fuzzy guy can have. Sending you lots of love.

XO,
Taylor Ham
