Update for Steven

Happy October, Friends!

Steven and I hope this message finds you well.  Steven is back in Suite A from his ringworm treatments and is doing great!

I hear from the staff that Steven was a trooper through his treatments for the icky fungus.  He put up with his frequent stinky baths and did his best to stay cheerful.

The staff thought that since he was cooped up in the Ringworm spa, it might be a good time to try to put Steven on a bit of a diet.  He has gotten a little round over the years.  Well, poor Steven didn’t take too kindly to this idea!  He was so sad in ringworm, where he didn’t have any kitty company and nothing to do.  Eating was his one true pleasure.  The staff quickly realized that their diet plan was just too much for Stevie to bear, so they relented and let him have his regular food again.  Don’t worry Steven, I think I would be wanting to eat everything in sight too if I was quarantined with nothing to do!

Now that Steven is back in Suite A, he is his usual happy-go-lucky self.  Kozmo, the crazy young kitty, has been moved to Suite B with the other crazy young kitties, so it is once again peaceful in Suite A.  The senior residents can rest in serenity without a small orange-and-white ball of fur bouncing off of them!  Steven and Stefan have been hanging out a bit together.  I hadn’t really seen them interact much before.  They were both in isolation in ringworm together.  They must have bonded over deep conversations while caged next to each other.  It is quite cute seeing them being buddies.

Quinn’s Corner is still coming along.  We are looking forward to the day when we can finally get our occupancy certificate and explore our new wing.  It has been so much fun watching it all come together.

We are now in the midst of our Linda Fund campaign.  During the next few weeks, all donations to the Linda Fund will be matched through a very generous set of donors.  The Linda Fund is a special fund that allows Tabby’s Place to get all of the specialized medical care that our residents may need.  It is a really crucial fund and it is used every year to work miracles.

Steven and I send you warm wishes for a fantastic month.  Enjoy the spooky season and thank you for all that you do for Steven and his friends.  Until next month…

Sue
