Update for Steven

Happy August, Dear Friends!

Can you believe that the summer is dwindling down and it will soon be time for autumn leaves and apple cider?  Time does sure fly these days.

Steven is doing wonderfully!  He has recovered from the injuries he received last month and is once again a happy boy in Suite A.  He enjoys time in the solarium and time in the suite and gets along with all of his cat friends.  Right now the room is quite mellow because young Kozmo is currently in the “ringworm spa,” undergoing treatment for the icky fungus.  Poor Kozmo is not so happy about living in isolation and getting stinky baths, but the rest of the Suite A cats are rejoicing in the peace and quiet that has come to their room.

Kozmo is absolutely adorable, but being 10 years younger than any other cat in the room made him difficult for his roommates to bear.  Kozmo has a few more weeks of treatment and we are keeping our fingers crossed that no other cats in the suite get ringworm.  We reinstated our very comprehensive ringworm protocol in Suite A to keep all of the cats safe while Kozmo undergoes his treatments.

Steven has been really cute this month.  Often he sleeps or is out in the solarium while I clean Suite A on Saturdays.  For the past few weeks, I have been training someone new to clean Suite A.  While we’ve been working, Steven has been out and about chatting with us.  It has been so sweet.  He just walks the room and follows us around and tells us all about his life.  He has some very interesting tales to tell.

One day when I was feeding in Suite A, I suddenly heard this weird squeaking sound coming from the bottom cubby on a set of cubby shelves.  I looked over and Roxy was on the little shelf but she was squirming around and squeaking.  This was really unusual so I went over to see what was wrong.  Steven suddenly oozed out from under Roxy’s body and slithered to the floor.  I don’t know how he could have been under her and I didn’t see him.  I laughed about that silly sight for days!  Goofy Steven.

Quinn’s Corner is getting closer and closer to being a reality.  We are very excited to embark on this new chapter at Tabby’s Place and can’t wait to share the grand opening news with you soon.  It is because of people like you that we can save so many kitties and give them an amazing life.  Thank you for everything.  Have a wonderful August.
