Dear Team Steven,
Every May, the weather here at Tabby’s Place turns lovely: beautiful blue skies, wispy white and billowing clouds, warm sun along with a gentle breeze in the air, and the budding of beautiful flowers in Cherny’s Garden.
Spring is a time of renewal and a recharging of the spirit, so it’s no surprise to find Steven whiling away his time in the picture window and befriending his favorite sunbeam. For a senior like Steven, life is good indeed when he can gently warm his old bones and ponder his thoughts about the doings of the day.

As one of our oldest residents and the recognized feline philosopher here, Steven has much to think about. Of course, he frequently ruminates about his dining preferences and the timely delivery of meals and snacks. Steven enjoys these creature comforts with tremendous gusto.
Once well sated, our big orange fellow contemplates his schedule for the rest of each day: snooze in the sun, or take a stroller ride? Have a cheerful chat with one of his many friends, or bide his time until his next meal in quiet contemplation? Perhaps settle in and consult on a surgery in his home in the Medical Center? Oh, all the decisions one has to make each busy day at Tabby’s Place!
Thanks to you, Steven has a broad array of marvelous activities to pursue. There’s never a dull moment for Steven, and he is grateful to you for that.
One morning, deep in meditation, Steven’s thoughts turned to Mother’s Day. Yes, it’s been a long time since Steven was a kitten, but his sweet, sweet memories of youth always make him dream happily of his dear mother. Watching year in and year out as new kittens and their mamas arrive at Tabby’s Place, he can’t help but grow a bit wistful. Although Steven came to us when he was just five weeks old, he once had a tender and loving mama cat, too.
Today, Steven turns to Tabby’s Place staff and volunteers to meet his needs. As his sponsor, you, too, are one of his “parents.” Your kindness and generosity fill his bowls and nestle him in a soft bed. When he has a medical need, your donations make it possible for Steven to receive the best care possible. And, while he knows you can’t always be here to let him sit in your lap or give him a good skritch under his chin, your make it possible for the rest of us to step in and fill your shoes.
What a pleasure and an honor it is for all of us to do so!
Thank you for all your generosity to Steven. You are ever in our thoughts!
Your correspondent,
Tina
