Happy May, Friends!

Steven and I hope that you are well. The weather is finally starting to turn to spring and Steven couldn’t be happier!
Steven is doing really well right now. Most days are nice for him to bask in the sun out in the solarium. That is Steven’s happy place. He loves being outside in almost any weather. It has been rainy a few times this month and I have found Steven inside. I was a bit surprised. Then I noticed that when it rains, all the worms in New Jersey seem to find refuge in the solariums. Perhaps Steven has come inside to avoid the 30 or so worms that have invaded his solarium!
Steven is in good health right now and of course, that makes us extremely happy. There is only one small Steven issue. Apparently, Steven is unable to reach his butt to give it a good cleaning, and someone told on him. So, he has been added to our list of cats who periodically need a butt check and clean-up.

Steven enjoys all of his suitemates but is especially fond of Pepita. These two sweeties have been in Suite A together for a long time and enjoy spending their days together. It is adorable to see them sitting side by side, usually in the solarium. They just need a cup of coffee and they would be like human old friends, sitting outside at a café catching up on each other’s news. I love seeing them together.
Steven and all of us at Tabby’s Place would love your help in expanding our family—with volunteers! Last month I mentioned our need for additional volunteers as we prepare for our Quinn’s Corner expansion, which will open later this year. From cleaning to feeding to delivering tender affection, volunteers make a huge impact on our cats’ lives. If you have a heart for cats, we have a role perfectly fit for you at Tabby’s Place.
If you, or anyone in your own “family” of cat lovers, can come aboard, please visit our volunteer page, submit a volunteer application, or contact our Director of Volunteers, Karina Jewitt, at kj@tabbysplace.org. Volunteers must be 12 years or older, and a parent must accompany those under 16 during their volunteer shift. Please share this opportunity with your loved ones! And if you live a bit too far away to join us in person, know that you are still very much “right here” with us through your generosity…and we are so very grateful!
Steven sends his love and his wish for a wonderful May. We will be back next month with more Steven news.
