Update for Steven

Hello, Friends!

Steven and I hope you had a good month.  The sun is out, spring has sprung, the birds are back, and Steven and his friends are enjoying life in Suite J.

In medical news, Steven wasn’t acting quite right early in the month and experienced some weight loss. The staff ran blood work, a urinalysis, and x-rays, and everything checked out okay. The vet team decided to adjust his GI medications slightly and discontinue the antifungal medication that he had been on since contracting ringworm. As the month continued, Steven’s stool improved and he began to put on some of the weight he had lost. Steven has been noted to be drinking more frequently. He will continue to be monitored for any changes. Since his recent tests were all good, there is nothing further to pursue on this.

Steven loves life in Suite J.  He can see all the comings and goings from the large glass wall and door of the suite.  He loves to sit on a cat tree right inside the door and wait for people to pass by.  As soon as they come by, he puts on his cutest smile and lures them in for a visit.  He is irresistible!

Steven has discovered the solarium outside of his room.  It is a beautiful sunny spot and he has been enjoying the early spring breeze.  His roommates are very quiet, so he has been exploring on his own.  Elijah has found his favorite cubby and rarely strays from it.  Boom is often found hiding under a blanket in a cat bed.  Sadly his fourth roomie, Roxy, passed away this month after a long battle with illness.  I think Steven has been happy to have his sunny solarium to retreat to.

Sweet Steven

As Steven’s loyal correspondent for all of these years, I need to say goodbye to all of you.  I am turning over Steven’s updates to a wonderful Tabby’s Place volunteer who has written for Luna in the past.  When Luna was adopted, Tina didn’t have a cat to write for, so she is very excited to be taking over writing for Steven.

I’m not going far.  I have recently been elected Chair of Tabby’s Place’s Board of Trustees.  With that position, my volunteering as a tour guide, and my full-time teaching job, I’m finding I don’t have as much time as I would like to write for Steven.

Of course, I will still visit him and give him lots of love!  He will always be my special guy.

I wish all of you well and look forward to connecting with you in new ways.  As always, Steven is so appreciative of your love and support.  Have a lovely spring.

Your correspondent,
Sue
