Update for Steven

 Happy March, Everyone!

Steven and I send you good wishes as we jump into this lucky month.  Steven is happy and enjoying life in his new suite.

The medical team evaluated Steven for pain this month as we have decreased his pain medications.  He no longer seems painful but does have weakness in his hind end along with some muscle wasting. He is going to have some x-rays to try and figure out what is going on.

Since he is a wonderful therapy cat, we are hoping that will soon be able to return to Aged to Perfection (visiting senior centers) and Paws to Read (visiting kids at local libraries).  His friends and fans miss him!  On several occasions this month, Steven’s suite was fed the wrong kibble.  Fortunately, it does not appear that this upset his GI tract any more than normal.

Steven is loving life in Suite J with Boom and his new roomies (most of whom are old roomies too).  Roxy, Viktor, and Elijah have moved in with him.  They all like their airy new suite and the big windows that look into the hallway and to the outside.  There is so much to see and do.

Steven gets lots of visitors now because they pass by his suite and can’t resist going in and seeing him.  He sits in a cat tree right by the door and beckons everyone with his eyes to come and see him!  He has had a lot of kids read to him during our in-house Paws to Read program.  They love going into his room, sitting on the floor, and having Steven plop right in their laps while they read.  It is so sweet!  The kids are so happy and Steven gets lots of love and snuggles.

There has been so much happening at Tabby’s Place with the new addition of Quinn’s Corner.  Later this year will be the official opening to the public, as right now we are ramping up operations. The cats are happy and the building is bustling with so much excitement.  There have been a lot of changes, but they are all in the best interests of the cats, and everyone seems to be happy with what has come to be.

We hope that you can visit Steven and his friends in their new home at some point and enjoy all that Tabby’s Place has to offer.  If you can not come to visit, we hope that you will continue to enjoy these tales of Steven from afar.  Thank you for being such a wonderful friend to Steven.  He appreciates you more than you’ll ever know.
