Update for Rose

Happy New Year!

I hope that y’all welcomed 2019 with open arms. What I love so much about a new year is that the clock resets and it is time for more adventures. I reckon my hope is that all your wishes come true this year. I am over the moon to have you as my sponsor in 2019, and together we will have a great year. Thank you!

I could not help but overhear the staff and volunteers talk about their plans for New Year’s Eve. It sounded like a lot of fun, eating, and drinking.

At Tabby’s Place we cats go to bed much before midnight, but we still heard the fireworks outside—I’m not a fan of loud noises. I included my New Year’s Eve picture in this update, I am enjoying my sled scratching post. Scratching posts are one of my favorite things in life! I understand that in Times Square a giant ball drops at midnight. My correspondent suggested that I drop my diaper at midnight to welcome the new year to Tabby’s Place. That is the funniest thing that this l’il black and white Southern cat has ever heard! Had to show you a picture of my cool diapie, colorful like me!

I hope that your holidays were everything you dreamed of, and lots of good gifts came your way. It warmed my l’il heart to have visits from sponsors over the holidays—what a great surprise! My tummy feels good to know how fortunate I am to have you as a sponsor. Some of our very generous and caring community members brought gifts for us cats and sweet treats for the staff and volunteers. The holidays are so magical.

I always wish humans and cats good health for the new year. I am happy to say that my health has been good this month. I just had an appointment with my neurologist and got a thumbs up. That nasty ear infection I had in July that went into my brain is gone. This feels like a miracle for me. I was raised proper to believe in the power of positive thinking, prayer, and the amazing care at Tabby’s Place pulled me through. Thank you again for all your good wishes and prayers. This l’il black and white Southern girl has lots of living to do.

I think that I have blossomed since moving into the lobby. At first, I was scared because I had lived in the Special Needs Suite (now kitten room) and Suite A. Both suites were smaller in size. My correspondent reassured me that it would be OK, and I just needed to get my bearings. I love the freedom that I have in the lobby, and really don’t mind wearing my cute custom diapie. Hope you enjoy the picture of my favorite colorful diapie. I admit that I do try to remove the diapie when I am able, and then look at the staff very innocently, like a sweet Southern belle.

I enjoy the stream of visitors as well as staff and volunteers through the lobby. There are challenges, but I am Rose, and I make the best of a situation. Pixie continues to turf with me when she comes into the lobby, but I do not fret because I will win her over with my Southern charm. I am also known to run at warp speed from one end of the lobby to the other! I never knew I could move so quickly, having been hit by car as a l’il kitten. Remember when I was in Suite A and I was the welcome ambassador for new cats? That has carried into the lobby, and I recently welcomed Jennifur, a sweet 14-year old cat.

My correspondent had planned on taking me to the solarium for a visit, but we had to put it on hold. Abe and Rorschach from Suite A have become best friends and spend a lot of time together in the solarium cuddled up. They also have become a bit territorial, and when a volunteer brought me to the solarium a few weeks ago, the boys did not show me any Southern hospitality. Since my correspondent is still healing from her knee replacement we decided to rain check the visit to when she is able to wrangle the boys, if needed.

Happy 2019, embrace the new year and make it your year! Thank you for being my sponsor and making my life so amazing! Sending you extra sweet whisker kisses!
