Update for Rose

Update for Rose

Hi y’all! I do declare, it has been hotter than grits on a griddle around here this month. I hope that you have stayed nice and cool and are enjoying the beauty of the summer. I have been spending maximum time in the solarium looking at all of the summer colors on the trees and flowers. Even the birds have been stopping by our solarium bird feeder to chirp hi. The good news is that the temperatures have started to drop a bit. I think that humans and cats are much happier with the cooler temperatures. So, what have you been doing this summer for fun? If I were writing an essay about my summer vacation it would read, “I stayed in the solarium from sunup to sunset!”

Thank you for being my sponsor! I am so very proud to have you in my life, and love to tell you about my adventures. Since my last update, the “Tabbys Place 5th Annual Kitten Shower and Adoption Event” was held. There were so many staff and volunteers who worked so very hard to bring the kitten shower to life, of course along with the support of us cats! The refreshments looked delicious, and from the smiles on the visitor faces, it seems they were delicious. I had my eye on a pink sugar cookie in the shape of a cat. I did not see a lil’ black and white southern cat cookie — maybe next year! I was tickled pink because I had the honor of meeting so many visitors. You would have been so proud of me. I was groomed to the nines, and presented a variety of cute Rose poses, including my famous, “look at my belly.” Visitors were very generous and brought shower gifts for the kittens. The best gift was that most of the kittens had adoption applications by the end of the event, and many visitors enjoyed meeting the older cats.

One of my super powers is welcoming new cats to Suite A. I remember how scared I was when I first came to Tabby’s Place, and promised myself I would always help other cats. The humans call this “paying it forward.” Well, we have a new handsome roommate named Jimmy who is just a delight. He is a bit shy at first, but really warms up to visitors. My correspondent just met Jimmy, can’t stop talking about him, and asked me to please keep an eye on him. We have had quite a few adoptions this past month, and I would not be surprised if Jimmy found a home sooner rather than later.

One of the tough things about being incontinent is that I have more frequent urinary tract infections than the average cat. I usually don’t mind because the caring staff at Tabby’s Place is there to help recover quickly, and make me feel better. My recent urinary tract infection was like a burr under my saddle because it kept me from visiting my senior friends in the “Aged to Purrfection” program. I was sad because I did not want my senior friends to be without purr therapy. Fortunately, my pal Pixie represented us both and Tabby’s Place and spread lots and lots of love around. I am feeling much better; you can’t keep a lil’ southern black and white kitty down! I hope to see my senior friends this month.

Wishing you a July filled with smiles and sunshine. Until next month, sending you whisker kisses!
