Update for Rose

Howdy, Dear Sponsors!

I do declare, the cooler weather that I have been dreaming of has started to arrive!  This air is so refreshing and makes my stroller rides extra enjoyable.  I have a fun stroller ride story to share.  Every week a stroller schedule with dates and times is posted.  I am considered a veteran stroller rider since I have enjoyed many hours with outdoor rides as well as indoors with the Aged to Purrfection program.  My correspondent gives tours on Saturdays and somehow, someway, she always ends up in Suite A or in our solarium so all the touring visitors will meet the li’l black-and-white southern kitty—that’s me!

Strolling along!

I was not scheduled for a stroller ride, but the scheduled cat was fast asleep.  Volunteers treat us like family and they never wake a napping kitty.  I raised my paw high up, and into the stroller I went.  I had a wonderful stroller ride and was able to take a glance over yonder at Quinn’s Corner construction.  You can learn more about this great expansion by clicking here.  Now, back to my stroller ride (I multi-think sometimes with stories!).  When I returned from my stroll, my correspondent was waiting for me, wrapped me in a furry blanket, and gave me a gentle hug and kiss.  My kind of purrfect welcome!

Aside from temperatures, I know it is autumn when my correspondent shows up for a tour guide shift wearing a bright orange Rose t-shirt.  I feel so special, and hope she wears it on Halloween.  Volunteers and staff are talking about their favorite fall treats.  I am curious about apple cider with cinnamon sticks and caramel apples.  My correspondent has a sweet tooth and prefers to bite the caramel off and leave the apple.  Are there traditional fall foods that get your attention every year?  The big talk around Tabby’s Place amongst us felines (and humans) are what costumes are planned for Halloween.  The staff and some volunteers dressed up last year along with some of us.  Last year I was a delicate fairy with wings—I am not one who likes scary costumes (but have been photographed with my cute Rose fangs! See the photo in this update).  If I had my druthers I would dress as a little cow—I already have the costume colors down!

Lickable treats–yum-yum! Boom, stay away!

Boom and I have been friends since I arrived at Tabby’s Place.  I love him like a brother and think that he finally got the hint not to steal my catnip bananas.  I share well with others, but do not like when he grabs without asking.  A certain correspondent likes to be sure that I have treats when she visits.  I really love the lickable treats, and she puts them in a food dish and guards me while I savor my delicacy.  The other day she looked at me and I had food on my nose.  It was so cute I had to share this photo.  I try to include pictures of me that you will enjoy and am over the moon at the idea of you visiting l’il ol’ me in person.  You can take all the pictures of me and you that your heart desires!

Food on my nose–oh, my!

My health update this month is a bit different than usual.  Instead of sharing a single update, I wanted to share the big picture.  I am so happy every day when I wake up and know that I have you as a sponsor, someone who cares deeply about me.  Likewise, I care about and love you very much.

It was only 3 years ago that I had my health scare.  I have been feeling pretty good since then.  As a cat who is incontinent (from being hit by a car at an early age), I have a rather long history of dealing with ongoing urinary tract infections (UTIs) and bacterial resistance to antibiotics.  Our amazing and caring Tabby’s Place staff has always been there for me and helped me battle all medical challenges.  I know that with our staff and you in my corner I will get better.  My correspondent says, “Be Like Rose,” as a sign of strength.  I have lots more Rose love and happiness to spread around.  May I ask that you please keep me in your thoughts?  Bless your heart and thank you!

Halloween fangs

Lordy, I have never seen so many kittens in my life at Tabby’s Place!  Each one is so beautiful and so precious.  We “big cats” cheer for the babies when they are adopted.  As promised, I have checked out the kitten room, and until now we do not have a Rose look alike.  Anything is possible, so I will let you know if my mini-me is nearby.

Have a Happy Halloween filled with treats (no tricks)!  I’m sending you caramel-coated whisker kisses.

Love,
Rose
