Update for Rose

Hi y’all!

Hope that you had a fun-filled Halloween. That is one of my favorite holidays, and I was so happy to be featured on the Tabby’s Place Facebook page on Halloween. I enjoy seeing the costumes, and this year the entire Tabby’s Place staff dressed up! You do not need a costume, you are always dressed as “my sponsor,” which means you are someone who cares about me, supports me, and is always there for me. Thank you for your love, I send my love back to you!

Even my friend Anka dressed as a “banana split” on Halloween for his visit to the seniors in the “Aged to Purrfection Program.” That is such a wonderful program, and I truly am blessed to be able to spread love to the precious seniors. Bless their hearts!

My correspondent came for a Halloween visit and of course said that I looked like a lil’ black-and-white baby cow. My Halloween treat was spending oodles of time in the solarium with my correspondent. For my safety I am not allowed to go up the solarium ramp, but I do get credit for trying! My poor correspondent must literally throw her body across the ramp. This has become our game, more mine than hers!

I reckon that I am feeling darn good. This lil’ black-and-white southern cat is a fighter and loves life so much! I will see my neurologist next month for a follow-up visit. My correspondent noticed that my slight head tilt is not as prominent as it was a few months ago. I will take this as a good sign, and keep my paws crossed. The past few weeks the staff has been keeping an eye on me because of a cough. I am already on antibiotics, so they are being extra cautious.

The good news is that I have become better adjusted to life in the lobby and am more visible to greet visitors. I still have a cat bed under the reception desk but am using it less and less. I enjoy sitting in the cat tree by my crate and using the scratching post that looks like a bed. My latest antic is to burrow under my blankets in the crate and hear everyone calling for me. It is kind of funny!

My area in the lobby is next to the weight management suite and the kitten suite, so I get to watch the feline happenings in both suites. The staff and volunteers still have to be careful opening doors because I am pretty darn fast, even with my diapie. I am getting more used to it but derive great pleasure in pulling my diapie off with my teeth, much to the dismay of the staff.

There have really been quite a few adoptions this past month. I am thrilled to see cats and kittens going to a forever homes. I don’t know if I will be adopted, but I am loving life as a Tabby’s Place resident, and all the care and love that I am shown by everyone. Plus, I do have the best sponsor in the universe, you!

Activities are on a rise in the fall, aside from adoptions and new volunteer orientations, we held a “Chip or Treat” event in October, and are gearing up for “Thanksgiving with the Cats,” which will be held on November 17th. What an exciting event! People may feed us cats a Thanksgiving turkey meal, there are self-guided tours, human treats to eat, and a silent auction (with lots of awesome prizes). I might need my correspondent to bid on a few prizes for me!

Until next month, wishing you a special Thanksgiving. Please know that I give thanks every day for having you as my sponsor. Sending you extra sweet whisker kisses!
