It’s time for another monthly update, Olive fanciers.
Nothing makes us happier than being able to tell you that Olive has had a month of good health, and in this update, we are able to do just that. The past four weeks have been trouble-free for her, medically speaking. Hurray!
It’s a shame that the “trouble-free” description of Olive’s medical issues cannot extend to all aspects of her life. Our feisty girl has shown herself to be something of a trouble maker this month. It’s not that she’s become inattentive to visitors or has taken to snapping at them more than usual, nor is she trying to exit the building when the front door is opened. As you might guess, Olive’s difficulty is with other felines—specifically with Anka.
If you don’t know about Anka, he’s a gorgeous young male. His back half is non-functioning, possibly from being hit by a car. Anka lives in a fenced area within the lobby. He adores people but cannot seem to live peacefully with other cats, so he’s “fenced off” from other lobby residents.
Olive seems to take a positive pleasure in taunting Anka these days. She used to limit her encounters with him to periodic hisses and growls when she ventured near his enclosure, but now, in addition, she’ll lie down near his enclosure and stretch her front paws out toward him, as though she wants to play or fight (we don’t know which). Understandably, Anka is not delighted by this. So far, it isn’t enough of a problem that we have to do something about it, but we’ll have to keep an eye on our little lobby instigator!
As always, thank you for helping us keep Olive safe, sound, and content.
