Update for Newman

Happy September, Newman Adorers!

Newman was king of the solarium when I arrived on my last visit. A kind soul had placed a huge cushion in the middle of the floor with a nice soft blanket over it, and Newman was quite happy all snuggled up along side it. But the second I walked through the door, relax time was over for Newman and Nuttin . Nuttin is enjoying his new found freedom with his solarium-mates and rushed right over to greet me.

I attempted to make Newman and Nuttin all handsome by combing them but Newman had other things in mind. So, we played instead! Nuttin was extremely interested (from his perch atop the comfy cushion, see picture in upper right) and kept batting the ball back to me. He is quite the athlete!

It was a warm day and after all that grooming and playing, they were both rather zonked and needing some rest time. It is hard to tear myself away from these sweeties. It was good to see our regal Nuttin laying claim to the perch in Dusty’s solarium (Oops, did I let that slip out? Please don’t tell Nuttin!)

No medical news for Newman this month, which is just the way we like it. Newman’s been spending his days outside – in fact, I don’t think I’ve seen him inside in several months – and being 100% adorable in the process. Sit down on the floor, even to visit with another cat, and it won’t be long before Newman’s flopped down beside you, or in your lap, gazing up into your eyes like a long lost friend.

One day earlier this month, Newman and Lester were playing a game of Simon Says (or in this case, Lester Says). Whatever Lester did, Newman would copy him a minute later. Lester plays with a fuzzy mouse? Newman does it next. Lester head bonks a person? Newman’s up next. Lester lays claim to said person’s belongings? Newman’s all over them, too. No word on how the game ended, but I’d be willing to bet that once dinner arrived, Newman wasn’t going to wait for Lester to go first any longer!

Thank you dear sponsors for giving Newman the happy and comfortable life that he deserves. Newman would love to meet you and thank you himself! He has tons of love to share with those near and far. Until next month, be well.

P.S. Newman would like to invite you to Catoberfest on Saturday, October 6th at Tabby’s Place. The big day includes a silent auction, book signing by Gwen Cooper (author of Homer’s Odyssey), live music and all kinds of lectures and goodies. The kitties would love to see you, and you can click here for more information about the event. In case you can’t join us in person, you can start bidding in the cats’ online silent auction this Monday (9/17) by clicking here. Every penny raised will help care for the kitties.
