Update for Morgan

We have been a little concerned about Morgan for the past few weeks.
His appetite has been “off” somewhat, and he does not appear as active as usual.
Our vet and tech have examined him several times and have not found anything to explain his behaviors.
Denise, our Senior Vet Tech, did detect a strange heart rhythm one day, but it was back to normal by the next day.
Not clear if that explains anything.

We are, of course, keeping a close eye on Morgan and will let you know ASAP if anything changes.

On the social side, Morgan seems to have made a new friend.
I have seen him napping with Mimi recently, and I snapped the photo below just the other day.
Of course, I don’t know what cats are thinking when they act like this, but it is always so heartwarming to see this, and I like to think that they are fond of each other.
(I need to mention that Mimi has not yet been spayed, as we’ve been worried about a a so-far-unidentifiable mass in her chest.
Could Morgan be reminded of his roguish youth???)

Morgan is now permanently banned from my office. And, no, it’s not because he abandoned me.
The truth is that all cats but one (more on that below) are now forbidden from entering my office.

Since cats can jump (and they don ‘t obey rules), enforcing this edict took some effort. We tried many solutions and ultimately settled on a pet gate that was 41″ tall.
So far it has worked fine, and I close the door when I am out of the office for more than a few minutes.

SO, my new roommate is Doc.
You see, Doc is blind, diabetic, hyperthyroid and … FIV+.
We tried him out in the FIV Suite, but the tough guys in there were bashing him on the head as he wandered around.

He is a very sweet boy and great office mate.
