Update for Morgan

Morgan is doing great symptomatically: you would never know he has severe heart disease and was paralyzed.
He runs around the Lobby like a mental patient, nimbly jumping on and off the tables and reception counter.
It is a joy to watch him be so happy.

But, lingering in the back of my mind is the reality of his severe heart disease.
That was hammered home this week when he saw the cardiologist for a recheck.
His heart disease has progressed and he remains at risk for another blood clot.

Not to be dramatic, but it has always been hard for me to live in the face of death.
Of course, we all do this every day, but it is easy to ignore this fact.
But it is one of the reasons I started Tabby’s Place and the reason I decided to write for Morgan.

Enough somberness.

I arrived to work last week for my early shift and was treated to a delightful sight: TWO orange cats in my office.
Morgan was curled up on my desk and new Lobby cat Mario was nestled in one of my chairs.
Seeing that as I start my work day reminds me of how wonderful it is to do this work.

As you know by now, Morgan is no longer my office mate. He decided the Lobby was better suited to his “emotional needs.”
That left me with Colleen.
However, she vacates my office each morning as soon as possible, only spending the night in here, due
to her special diet.

So much for fickle office mates.
I will very soon be getting a very special office mate.
In fact, he is so special that I will be replacing the standard cat gate at my door with an extra-high gate.

Why, you ask?
Stay tuned …
