Update for Morgan

Morgan spends most of his time in the Lobby at this point.
Over the past few months, there have been many changes to the feline population.
Morgan has, in his gentle way, tolerated the changes without fuss.

This has been pretty easy, since the Lobby cats tend to be mellow, and Morgan’s large size tends to keep difficulties away.
But, there is one newish resident who is not intimidated by Morgan’s size: bodacious Jackie.
Jackie is a long-time resident who was moved to the Lobby due to her seniority and our soft hearts.
It is safe to say that Jackie has an attitude.

While Jackie struts around like she owns the place, she does have a “soft spot” for food (as you undoubtedly noticed).
And when there is food in her vicinity, Jackie moves with the swiftness, if not the grace, of a panther.

The other day, Morgan was quietly enjoying a mid-afternoon snack when the stealthy jungle cat (aka Jackie) smelled fresh meat.
She waddled over to Morgan’s location, laid down 6 inches from his food and just stared.
And stared. And, stared some more.

Morgan valiantly tried to guard his “kill,” but he was no match for Jackie’s steely-eyed stare.
He started to rise, and before you know it, Jackie was on the prey (9 Lives Pate, to be precise).

In the photos, you can see Morgan as he starts to leave and then bolts as fast as possible to avoid losing a limb to Jackie. 🙂
I felt as I were watching a National Geographic special. But, it was just another day in the Tabby’s Place Lobby.
