But, not everything in the garden is rosy.
It seems that Morgan’s return has ruffled the feathers of a long-term Lobby resident: Boots.
A little background … when Boots came to Tabby’s Place a few years ago, he was moved into the Lobby due to his heart disease.
While he was great with people, he turned out to a hellion with other cats.
His scuffles with the likes of Gingko and Geoff were legendary.
In fact, all three of them ended up on Fluoxetine (generic for Prozac).
But Geoff was adopted and Gingko went to a permanent foster home.
Boots calmed down as time passed and we began to decrease his drug dosage.
We were just about to eliminate the drug completely when Morgan made his reappearance in the Lobby.
This appears to have triggered something in Boots’ brain and he has began showing aggression to Morgan. So far, it’s just posturing, but with Boots’ past record, we know he will not hesitate to pounce, given the chance.
Now, Morgan is a very big boy, but he is very gentle. I have never send him “lift a paw in anger.”
In the interest of peace, we are continuing Boots’ drug and will increase it if necessary.
Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised. To paraphrase Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin:
” … violence is as American as cherry pie”
Those of you as old as me will know Jamil better as H. Rap Brown, once associated with the Black Panther Party.
The similarity to Boots is obvious.
