Update for Morgan

Since the beginning of April, Morgan has been “shot out of a cannon.” He has been literally running across the Lobby, into the Community Room, onto the table, …
The last week I only saw him as an orange-white blur crossing my field of vision.

At first I thought it was because National Welding Month had finally arrived.
Someone pointed out that warm weather has finally arrived in NJ.
I admit that’s a possibility, but I’m sticking with my first hypothesis, since, after all, “National Welding Month is about education and encouragement.”

I am also happy to report that Morgan now holds dual citizenship, as he splits his time between the Lobby and Community Room.
I enjoy seeing how happy he is and how he radiates joy and warmth wherever he goes.

It’s difficult to recall that Morgan’s life teetered on the edge when entered Tabby’s Place.
He had little hope of surviving, much less walking again.
I try to keep this in mind … not to be morbid .. but to remember to treasure each moment with him.
It’s astonishingly hard to maintain this frame of mind.
We act as if we will live forever, despite the inevitability.
I’m sure there’s a secret there, somewhere.
I’m still looking for it.
