Update for Mary

Happy December to my favorite people in the whole entire world!

Yes, it is actually me, Mary! I hope you’ll be thrilled to know that I will now be writing my monthly updates in my very own voice. My original correspondent Sheila was kind enough to help me through the approval process… I had to submit writing samples to prove my kitty journalism skills… but now I can dictate my thoughts each month to my new correspondent Florie, who will simply type them into the computer since I haven’t managed to grow opposable thumbs yet. So here we go, kittens!

I have already been celebrating the holiday season with my extra festive spirit of joy. I am frequently seen playing gleefully with nothing in particular, leaping and frisking around Suite A like a kitten, even though I’m about six years old now. I find delight in almost everything, from toys to human affection to snuggling with other cats, and not just at this time of year. But especially now when it’s so chilly outside here in NJ, I am even more grateful for my warm cozy beds and all my pals, both kitty and human.

My giddy spirit serves me well when I do encounter medical struggles, and unfortunately I did have a few this month. I developed a urinary tract infection that required antibiotics, which is one of my least favorite things. But I always try to remember that the stellar care I receive here is something I can never be too grateful for.

Speaking of my spectacular vet team, they also discovered some dental disease and scheduled me for a cleaning and some extractions. Oh well…no fun, but keeping me healthy so I can enjoy a long life full of love is exactly what I thank you for this holiday season! You are the reason I get to spend my days snuggling with my best bud Chewbacca, like in the picture I’m attaching here.

The other picture I’m attaching shows a permanent souvenir of my past. A girl always keeps a few secrets to maintain an air of mystery… but I will tell you that the “X” tattooed on my left ear is from when I lived in a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) colony years ago, before I was lucky enough to end up at Tabby’s Place. I will tell you more about my younger years as we get to know each other — and please do stop in for a visit if you live close by so we can chat in person too. In the meantime, I wish you a wonderful month full of whatever brings you smiles during this special time of year. You are the best present a girl could ever ask for!

All my love,

Mary
