Update for Lester

Dear friends,

People are now calling me sweet. I’m as surprised as you are, and also very flattered. What a long journey it has been from Brooklyn street boy and Tabby’s Place FIV+ tough guy to the all-around nice cat I am today. I’m now a gentle friend to my suitemates. In case you need to see it to believe it, just check out the photo of me chilling out with my dear friends, Newman (my former arch-nemesis) and Mona below.

To everyone’s dismay, I continue to suffer from severe diarrhea. I saw a specialist last month, who suggested a new diet. They’re going to give it a month to see if it works. Please, please, please cross your fingers or paws that it works. I overheard them whispering that if this new diet doesn’t work, the next step is an endoscopy. Now, as a cat, I don’t have the first clue what that means, and I’d rather not find out!

The industrial dryer at Tabby’s Place broke recently, so volunteers were taking loads of laundry home. But we messy kitties generate so much dirty laundry that the kind staff also hung some outside to dry here, too. It was fun to watch all the blankets and towels swaying in the breeze. In my mind, I pretended I was a big, strong bull preparing to attack the matador’s red cape (or blankets and towels). In reality, I was relaxing in my chair hoping someone would pet my head and cuddle with me. 🙂

I hope you enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones. I will be here at Tabby’s Place, eating my new diet, and reflecting on how thankful I am for all your love and support.

Your pal,
Lester
