Dear friends,
Because of the cold, my roommates and I have been spending lots of time indoors, where it’s cozy and warm. I like to curl up on the blanketed chairs so I can pretend I’m on top of the world.
I’m usually on top of the world all by myself, but as you can see from this picture, I occasionally have company. In this case, I was getting lovely, long head scratches from a visitor, and Buddy wanted in on the action. He figured if he hopped up next to me, he could steal some human affection. It worked, and I didn’t mind sharing. Must be the holiday spirit…
Newman, on the other hand, is not feeling the holiday spirit – at least not when it comes to me. The tables have turned, as they say. I guess maybe I’ve pushed him too far, but lately he’s been aggressive toward me. He sometimes stalks me and, when I least expect it, pounces on me. This guy has borrowed my tactics and is using them against little old me. Can you believe the nerve? Luckily, no one has gotten hurt, but this time Newman has gotten “the talk” about his aggressive behavior.
I’m excited about the holidays. I’ve seen them breaking out the holiday decorations around here, and it’s beginning to feel very festive. It’s hard to believe another year is coming to an end. As I reflect on the year, my heart swells with gratitude for the good life with which I’ve been blessed.
I wish you and your loved ones a very special holiday season.
Lots of love,
Lester
