How is your summer going? I hope you are enjoying the warm weather and had a good Independence Day. We celebrated here in the solarium, because, as you know, cats are extremely patriotic! We enjoyed the fireworks displays and saw some really interesting stuff – snowflakes, starbursts, and even hearts. Now if they could just get those fireworks to burst into the shape of a cat head – wouldn’t that be something?

Last month I reported that I have been having some digestive issues and, unfortunately, it isn’t getting any better. No one is sure why this is happening, but they are trying to get everything under control for me. It can be a bit uncomfortable! This probably means that I won’t be able to celebrate National Ice Cream Month, since they won’t let me have any treats right now.

Nevertheless, I am enjoying my suitemates, especially my buddies Newman , Bo and Buddy. My correspondent caught all four of us practically piled on top of one another in the solarium, playing the cat version of “king of the hill.”

I am sad to report that we lost our friend Jean Valjean a few days ago. He was a good guy and I’ll miss him.
