Update for Kitten Fund

Greetings, Sponsors of tiny fur balls,

Can you believe it’s October and we’re still in full-tilt kitten madness?? Tabby’s Place is filled with little tiny fuzzy treats—some of whom are very tricky.

First things first: our newest Tabby’s Place alumni! This month Belle, Amy & Sheldon, Figaro, Miso, Kefir, and Lettuce all went on to their forever homes. They all seem to be doing great and are working hard on their very first Halloween costumes. And since there’s more than one way to move on, four of our feral kittens returned home to their colony: Honey Mustard, Gulden, Grey Poupon, and Ketchup proved too saucy to be tamed by we mere humans and have gone back to season the lives of their cat brethren. They will still get the care and love of volunteers, but without all the annoyance of us trying to pet them.

And I did say tricky? Two kittens with neurological issues are currently in the loving care of Tabby’s Place fosters. Flip presented with hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain), and Sabine came to us with her front paws folded across her chest so that she is unable to use them. Both of these sweet babies are undergoing medical tests to determine how we can best help them live long, happy lives and are receiving plenty of TLC in their foster homes.

The Kitten Room is a full house these days, but you wouldn’t know it! Our year of shy kittens continues with a room filled with timid tuxedos and season-appropriate black kittens. Catsup, Sauerkraut, and Skipper (a dilute tortie, a grey and white, and a tabby, respectively) are the only renegades to the black and white trend. You’ll find Melman, Kowalski, Kimchi, Kombucha, Coleman, Mort, Dijon, and Hunts in varied piles of nervous black and white fluff.

If our previous class of shy black kittens is to be believed, one day they’ll shock us and suddenly be the friendliest little cats we ever did see! (Really, you should see CornPop these days. She’s a doll.)

But wait, there’s more! We have new arrivals! Bill and Sookie, Martiza, Colleen and Taylor, and Weeble are all anxiously awaiting the day they can join the Kitten Room and get the party started. Not one of them is shy, so once they join the mix things should get pretty exciting.

Obviously, we’re eager to find forever homes for all these precious babes. In the meantime, your continued sponsorship helps Tabby’s Place to make sure they get the very best start in life. And that’s the best treat there is!
