Update for Kitten Fund

Happy New Year, Kitten Sponsors!

The holidays were very busy here at Tabby’s Place. Over twenty cats and kittens went to their forever homes in December alone! And our resident cats were showered with affection and gifts from visitors and sponsors.

Adopted this month: Taylor & Tundra (together), Onondaga, Zora, CornPop, Gatti, Maurice, Gentoo & Ubuntu (together), Kirito & Asuna (together), Pirelli (who went home with adult eyeless wonder Sherman), Sauerkraut, Kraft, Heinz, and Kimchi.

Firestone and Michelin (siblings to Pirelli) are still with us. They’re very shy babes and we’re working on getting them better socialized. They love to play! Firestone runs around the Kitten Room looking for someone to wrestle with him while twice-his-size Hunts tries to hide from the tiny orange spitfire— but they are still nervous about being petted or picked up. They’re getting better every day, and though cuddling kittens is a tough job, the Tabby’s Place volunteers are equal to the task. We’re hopeful that we’ll find them a true forever home very soon.

Also still in the Kitten Room are River and Firefly. River is still a shy cat (though he likes being petted if you can find him), but Firefly has become very friendly! Both of them are improving with the digestive issues and are very gradually transitioning to a normal diet.

Pretty Catsup has moved to our Community Room to help her along with socialization and has made wonderful progress! The little tortie who used to dart away if you even looked at her now not only accepts petting, but yells at you in sweet little squeaks if you stop. I’m sure she’ll be scooped up by an adopter in no time at all.

Our newest kitten resident is tiny little Jude (pictured above). Jude has hydrocephalus, or fluid on the brain, which gives him his unique little face. He also seems to have some weakness in his back legs, though we don’t know yet if that’s a symptom of the hydrocephalus or of a spinal deformity. Right now he’s too small to get the tests he needs so he’s receiving lots of love and attentive care until the medical staff can get all the information they need to plan long-term. He’s the sweetest little guy and has an awful lot to say! He’s currently living in our Community Room, where Pixie and Catsup regard his playpen with great curiosity.

And that’s all the news that’s fit to print for now! Thanks to your continued sponsorship, 2019 looks to be another wonderful year at Tabby’s Place.
