Update for Kitten Fund

Delia & Lydia

Happy New Year, Kitten Fund sponsors!

It seemed for a while that kitten season would never end, but things are mostly very quiet here at Tabby’s Place.  Since the influx of kittens has slowed, the Kitten Room is now home to the not-so-kittenish Felvies (our litter of FeLV+ kittens: Ale, Kolsch, India, Lager, and Gose) who are almost a year old but still just as rambunctious as when they were babies.  They’ve become very social and love greeting anyone who comes into their new room!  They’re also very fond of watching all the activity in the Lobby.  All five of them have grown into sweet, beautiful cats and we hope to find homes for them.

Sheriff

FeLV presents a unique challenge as they are immune-compromised and FeLV is communicable to other cats, so we need to find just the right placements for them.

But just because the Kitten Room is currently a teenager room doesn’t mean there are no kittens at all.  Newcomers Sheriff and Outlaw are just back from their foster home and looking for a forever home, and long-suffering Delia and Lydia are finally (finally!) clear of ringworm and reluctantly accepting adoration and socialization in the medical suite.  Both pairs remain a bit skeptical of their new surroundings but will purr up a storm as soon as you start petting them.

Periwinkle

Also new to Tabby’s Place is Cotton, as beautiful a ball of fluff as you’re ever likely to see.  Cotton came to us from Lebanon and is currently in foster care.  Unfortunately, before he found his way to Tabby’s Place, Cotton was injured and lost both of his back paws!  He still has his back legs, but no paws.  Despite this, he is the most affectionate and playful kitten and is sure to steal hearts as soon as he returns from his foster home.

Cotton

Adopted this month: Dougal, Perseus, Bronte, Melville, Frost, Dickens, Lucifer, and Mazikeen (the last two never even made it out of quarantine before going home!).

And finally, a bit of housekeeping: this will be my last update as your Kitten Fund correspondent.  I’m moving to Colorado this week (my house is utter chaos as I type this), and as such must pass along my updating duties.

Outlaw

I’ve truly enjoyed keeping you abreast of everything going on with the youngest residents of Tabby’s Place, and though I’m excited to move I will miss everyone terribly.

So let me say one more time: thank you for your sponsorship.  Your generosity allows Tabby’s Place to care for cats like Cotton and to ensure that every kitten who toddles through the welcoming doors here has the best possible start in life.  It’s been a joy bringing their stories to you, and I know that with your help Tabby’s Place will continue their great work.

Your correspondent,
Tara
