I’m pleased to report that this has been another uneventful month for Jeremiah, as far as his health is concerned. Just recently, a couple of the staff thought his breathing has sounded a bit on the loud side, but our vet examined him, and she assured us there was no cause for concern. I happened to be in his suite when he was being looked over, a circumstance to which he took serious exception. He’s a large enough cat that a vet tech had to hold him while the vet examined him, but luckily he’s a mellow enough guy that his objections only took the form of some squirming and one or two growls.
Another new suite-mate, Alex, is on a special diet. Alex must be crated during mealtimes to prevent the other cats (including Jeremiah) from shoving him aside and taking his food. As a result, a large crate has been placed in the suite. Jeremiah decided almost immediately that the crate had been so placed to provide him with a new perch. Go into his suite at any hour, and chances are you’ll see “His Majesty” peacefully surveying his domain from the top of his crate. He has been known to slyly shoot a paw down over the edge and swipe at an unsuspecting suite-mate passing by!
