Doing my best to look adorable

Hips’ Happenings #5

Happy May to all my dear Sponsors and Tabby’s Place fans.  Welcome to my latest “happenings!”

Big yawn…a small meow…lots of purrs….eyes closed and snoring up a storm.  I was sound asleep in Prescott’s crate in my lobby when I heard my name being called by Mary Anne.  She had come early to visit me and I was taking my post-breakfast nap.  I kind of ignored Mary Anne since I really was sleepy.  Then Olive scooted over and sat by the crate for a long time, hoping I would come out and play.  I did open one eye but went back to sleep.  Olive stood guard by my crate, but I just closed my eye and took another 40 winks.  Then it was Prescott’s turn.  She came over and tried to get into the crate with me, but I just swatted her and went back to sleep.

Keeping an eye on things from one of ‘my’ cat trees!

After about half an hour, with Mary Anne was still waiting for me, I decided to open both eyes…and what did I see but Mortimer, a.k.a. Morty, sitting on Mary Anne’s lap and getting lots of pets and hugs and kisses.  Morty and I did not start off well.  He is an “old man” who loves people and wants hugs and kisses all the time.  But he was a lobby pee(er) and I had to straighten him out.  So I did a wee on top of his crate and he and I became friends.  Well, I waited a while and watched while Morty did some head butts on Mary Anne… and then, he gave her a nip and jumped down to explore the lobby a bit more.

My BFF and correspondent, Mary Anne, giving me kisses!

Then it was my turn.  I jumped out of Prescott’s crate and took a quick drink of water.  Mary Anne kept calling me, so I jumped in her lap and got so many hugs and kisses.  She held me in her arms for a long time and just talked to me and sang some silly nursery rhyme songs.  I was a very happy camper.

After my cuddles with Mary Anne, it was time for my duties.  I still have to help with the litter boxes and blankies and cat beds since the volunteers move a bit slowly for me.  But I can keep an eye on them from one of the cat trees that I love.  And, guess what?  I have made dear friends with Prescott.  She and I kind of hang out together all the time in between my play dates with Nina and Olive (and all the hoomans who come to visit me).  We play with the toys and run around the lobby like we are racing at the Derby!  I love my days with all my kitty buddies.

Healthwise, I am just fine.  Enjoying those monthly manis and pedis and health checks.  And, guess what, I could not find any forbidden treats this month so I was good with my bathroom going.  Yay for me!

Logging donations is hard work, but FUN!

And the days are getting warmer, at least some of them.  So, dear sponsors, please try to visit me now that the threat of snow and ice is gone.  Roads are clear and the way to Tabby’s Place is always open to you.  I would love to meet new folks and sit in your lap and get more hugs and kisses.

And if you can’t come in person, enjoy reading my updates so you will know what is going on with me.   That’s all for this month!

My new activity… teasing Anka through the glass doors!

Love to all,
Hips
(With help from your correspondent, Mary Anne)

P.S.  I have a new activity that just started when they took down the temporary wall.  When Prescott and I are not running around the lobby, I love to sit and look through the two glass doors by Jonathan’s office.  I can see Anka on the other side, but we can’t reach each other.  Hmmm, I think this must be like watching “hooman” television…LOL….
