Hips’ Happenings #34
Happy fall to all of you, Dear Sponsors!
It sure hasn’t seemed like fall weather-wise, with temperatures still into the 80s on some days. But, we are all very comfortable here at Tabby’s Place.
Well, I am sad because the love of my life, dear Prescott, has been moved to the Community Room: her dual citizenship has been revoked, at least for a while. We are managing a small ringworm outbreak here in the Lobby (click here to read more about how we’re handling it).
Although Tabby’s Place takes many precautions, ringworm is a fungus that lives in the environment all around us, and we can’t control everything that comes into our Lobby. So, we have temporarily discontinued the “open door” between the Lobby and Community Room until this is behind us.
Prescott and I will have to continue our “love affair” long distance … and I know we get to see each other again one day soon.

So, since Prescott is not nearby, I have made friends with Peabody. He and I can be seen curling up with each other almost every day now. We keep an eye out in the Lobby to make sure all of the kitties are okay. We can also see when visitors come by! But, I have to admit that I have not been so good about that lately—I have been having a blast running through doors and trying to escape.

Earlier, I just ran into Quinn’s Corner whenever I could. But now, I have progressed to the double doors that lead into the Lobby from the outside (hoomans call it the “vestibule”). I made it through one set of double doors and almost got out of the second one when visitors arrived…but luckily, the staff got to me and pulled me to safety.
I never promised I would be a good boy all the time. But, Christmas will be here sooner rather than later, and I want some toys and treats from Santa. So I’d better clean up my act. Now there are CAUTION signs up to warn folks about my escape routines.
Of course, I still love sitting in laps and getting pets. And, I am always on patrol to be sure the volunteers are putting out all of our blankies and beds. My health has been good this month, thanks to your loving generosity and care.

On October 5th, we celebrated Tabby’s Place’s 22nd anniversary—wow, this place has been here a long time, saving so many kitties like me.
See my video below about what a ‘pro’ I am in getting love! Thank you for filling my life with kindness. Peabody, all the cats and I wish you a very Happy Halloween.
Hugs and kitty kisses,
Hips
