My sweet belly!

Hips’ Happenings #27

Happy March, dear sponsors!

Colonel Peabody & Me!

Here we go, with lots of news and fun things to share. Even though the nights are still a little cold, it is sure warm in here with so much love and good times.

Our Your Feline Valentine event on February 15 was a big success.  We had lots of visitors, and I, of course, got lots of hugs and pets.  Even though we had a bit of snow, it didn’t affect how many visitors came—we still had fun!

And then, on March 1st, we had another event:  Paws to Read, in conjunction with the Dr. Seuss Read Across America event nationwide.  Many children sat down to read books to us.  Wow, did we all like that!  I got to cuddle with one of my favorite volunteers (who was dressed as the Cat in the Hat), who held me in his lap for a long time.  And my kitty friends in the Lobby also enjoyed listening to the soft voices holding our interest with some good books.

But now, I’m back to my usual routine.  You see, I am truly in charge of the Lobby and have to cuddle with some of the kitties who also live in this space.  I just love to curl up with Olive, Peabody, and, of course, my lady love, Prescott.  When I am not busy sleeping or nestling with them, I am doing my usual antics of rolling over and baring my belly for some much-appreciated rubs.  I really am a “ham” and am very good at my regular antics. (I even made a guest appearance in Tabby’s Place’s Fat Tuesday blog, for … obvious reasons.) I keep those staff members and volunteers on their toes…LOL!

My volunteer friend, who was also Cat in the Hat at our Paws to Read event

I have been in good health this month, and so has Prescott.  We love each other very much.  Even though we play and sleep with many of the other cats in the Lobby, we always go back to each other.  I guess you could say we are like an old married couple—we have lots of friends and share a wonderful life here at the sanctuary.

And just like that, it is almost spring.  Kitten season is coming, with new additions to Tabby’s Place.  So stay tuned for more of my Happenings!

But for now, I want to thank you, dear sponsors, for all you do for me and my buddies.  If it weren’t for your kindness and generosity, many of us would not be here today, living our best lives at Tabby’s Place.

Toys, toys, toys! I love to play!

Please come to visit and spend some time with us if you can. I am always open for a good belly rub, and I will even wait patiently while you visit the other cats here, too. Have a wonderful month, and I hope to see you here soon.

Hugs and kitty kisses,
Hips
