Update for Hips

Megan’s lap is the place to be!

Hips Happenings, #14

Happy February, Dear Sponsors, and Tabby’s Place Fans!

I have some news to share with you… mostly all good… but some not so good… So grab that mug of coffee or tea and a little treat and read on….

I had a wonderful month with my hoomans.  The staff and volunteers spent more time with me than usual because this is the month of love, with Valentine’s Day right in the middle of the month! You can just feel all the love at the sanctuary.  I was able to be in Megan’s lap and even share a secret with one of my favorite men.  And I was available for kisses all day long.  (This is the good news.)

I had a secret to share!

Now for the “not-so-good” news.   You know that Prescott is the love of my life.  But I have been having batting issues lately with not only Prescott but also with Olive.  So, Mary Anne came to visit me not too long ago.  I was sleeping in the cat tree in the lobby when she came in and the volunteers were busily cleaning and putting down new blankies and beds.

But I was not being a good boy.  Maybe it was because my leg was bothering me and I was limping a lot.  Jonathan (our Executive Director) told Mary Anne I had some nerve damage to that leg.  I don’t know what that is, but it sure did hurt.  So when Mary Anne tried to pick me up and give me lots of love and kisses, I wasn’t having it.  I tried to get out of her arms and she quickly put me back in the cat tree where I took a little nap.

Me with my dearest Mary Anne!

Later on, I woke up and found Prescott.   I ran after her and started batting her and jumping on her.  And, guess what… yep, you guessed it… the volunteers had to come get me and put me in time out.  I did not spend a hugs and kisses Valentine’s Day with my Prescott.  But I did see Antin rolling around the lobby in his red outfit for the occasion.

I don’t know what has come over me.  For months, Prescott and I would lie together, play together, nap together, and roam the lobby together.  And we still do that, but every once in a while, my dark side comes out and I just can’t control it.  I sure do hope the staff can figure out how to curb my wild desires.

Healthwise, I am fine.  Just taking it a day at a time and being the best I can be for as long as I can. I still have to be careful about what I eat so I won’t have the Big D so often.

My special name tag!

I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s Day and got lots of hugs and kisses.  I am so thankful for all of you, dear sponsors, for the wonderful things you do for me and Tabby’s Place.  I hope you can come to visit me in person and spend time here at the sanctuary to meet more of the kitties.

You will find me in my cat tree in the lobby and, hopefully, I won’t be in time out in my crate.  The Director of Volunteers made me a very special name tag (all the volunteers now have name tags). I’m not sure what it says, but everyone laughs when they see it!

Kiss me! Kiss me! It’s Valentine’s month, after all!

Have a wonderful rest of the month and tune in for the March update, too.  Until then, many hugs and kitty kisses from me.

Love to all,
Hips
