April showers bring May flowers, which to me means that awful times often lead to better times ahead. For Colleen, this past month might have been a bit rocky, but the kid prevailed, and she is in good health once again! Let me explain.
I’m told that, earlier this month, Colleen showed signs of a dreadful upper respiratory infection. Colleen literally stopped eating and dropped a significant amount of weight, enough to suggest that she might need a feeding tube to get back on track. That drastic measure wasn’t necessary, fortunately, because instead Colleen was given an appetite stimulant and crated during mealtimes. She regained a full pound, and everyone heaved a sigh of relief.
Phew!
At this point, our sweet girl is off the antibiotics and the appetite stimulant and can be found, you guessed it — on her favorite couch, soaking up the sunshine. The other day I popped in and found her drinking from her favorite water fountain. She jumped up on the couch and snuggled close to me for a few well-deserved pets.
Colleen is one of those cats whose biography would sell big time. What a life she’s had!
In the meantime, Colleen and I both want to thank you for your continued and generous support. Enjoy the lovely weather of spring!
