Update for Carrot

Dear Carrot Friend,

We are so excited that Carrot has so many friends who hang out with him now! His group of friends started out small—just 2 or 3 cats—but now most of Suite C hangs out with him in his solarium. The other day, when I went into the solarium, there were Carrot, Elijah, J’Happy, Mr. Thief, Pepperoni, Joshua, Mousy, Wilbur, and Lemon. I think the only cat who was still inside was Siesta. What a wonderful and fun group of cats they are! They all seem to get along so well most of the time and really seem to enjoy being together. When you open the door to the solarium you have to be quick, because all of the cats want attention, so they all run over as soon as they see you. It always makes me feel happy visiting them because they are all so happy.

The other day Pepperoni was grooming Carrot, and as I started to open the door, Carrot tried to get up to come over to see me. Pepperoni decided he was not done grooming Carrot just yet and wrapped his front legs tightly around Carrot to stop him from leaving. Carrot just laid down again for a couple of minutes, and let Pepperoni finish cleaning him. Eventually, they were done, and Carrot was allowed to come over to me.

We thought J’Happy and Mr. Thief would be a big challenge in that room because they had been cat aggressive in the past, but they have no issues whatsoever, and they get along with everyone really well.  Carrot is losing one of his buddies from Suite C though:  Lemon is getting adopted! We are very happy for Lemon and wish her a wonderful life in her new home.

Carrot had a lot of stroller rides this month. The weather is perfect strolling weather, and the volunteers and the cats have been making the most of it. We have a lot of stroller volunteers now, so a lot of the cats can get outside walks, and they get frequent walks. The building of the expansion for Quinn’s Corner is now in full swing, but it doesn’t seem to bother the cats at all. It is occasionally a little noisy, but mostly it’s pretty quiet.

Carrot had a fall photoshoot—check out the adorable photos of his with the pumpkins. So cute! He’s quite the cat model.

Carrot and Joshua

In medical news, Carrot was checked for a possible urinary tract infection, but no infection was found, which is good news. He had his calcium levels checked again, so we can keep an eye on his levels, and make sure all is well. When we check his calcium levels this is a fasting blood screen, so Carrot had to be crated overnight without access to any food. He had a great deal to say about this particular situation. Overall Carrot is a healthy and happy boy, thanks to you and all the support you provide. Thank you for being Carrot’s friend.

That’s all the Carrot news for this month. Have a wonderful month, and thank you again for all of your support.
