Update for Boots

Hello, my dearest friends,

Things are a little, well, different in the Lobby than they used to be. Some of you have known me a long time, but some of you are newer friends, so I’m gonna let you in on a little secret: I, your darling Boots Rosenberg, have not always been nice to other cats. Shocking, I know. These days, though…

I got a lot of new roommates recently. Time was, I’d very actively assert my superiority. Any new cat would be privy to my wrath guidance until it was firmly established that I was Gato Numero Uno. But when Oil, Walter, and Cornell arrived, I just let them be. And Scotty? He’s gotten so comfortable that he’ll butt in on a cuddle session between a human and yours truly. And I’ve just let him be.

It’s new and different, and I’m not quite sure what’s going on. But I can tell you that it’s nice.

Maybe last month’s inaugural Tabby’s Place Cat Yoga session has something to do with it. On the one hand, I don’t see what the big deal is about these contortions. Child’s Pose? Puh-leeze! I can spend hours on end holding that pose perfectly, and it’s never led to a higher level of consciousness or anything.

And yet, I find myself less interested in pummeling other cats. “The more we sweat in peace the less we bleed in war.” I found that line as I studied up on this yoga thing. There was also a lot of stuff about being the yoga instead of doing the yoga. Is that what’s going on with me? Am I becoming a yogi?

I’m not sure, my friends, but I certainly have been feeling much more beneficent lately. Come be the yoga with me! We can sit together and practice some poses. If I get really into it, you may even catch me doing Happy Baby Pose or Cat Pose. (You know if they’ve got a pose named after a cat, they’ve got to be on the right track!)

Namaste,
Boots
