Hello, my bonny friends!

Happy May! This has been a somewhat ruckus-full month for many cats here at Tabby’s Place, as many of them had to settle in to new living arrangements. It wasn’t too big a deal for us lobby cats because we have already (rightly) been placed in the prime meet-visitors-and-requisition-their-laps location on site, and we got to stay put. As always, if you are in need of a cat on your lap, you know where to find me.

I’m also happy to report that the various moves didn’t get in the way of our traditional lobby maying (which, as you know, is Middle English for celebrating May Day!). We donned our puffy shirts, doublets, and jerkins, brought out our recorders and lutes, and had a fine time singing madrigals and dancing around the maypole. Trey, I must say, is quite the clogger with that cast on his leg!

Naturally, our celebration has a lot to do with yummy cat food, and naturally, yours truly just couldn’t sing enough about its wonderfulness! Would you like to hear my favorite cat food madrigal? Thomas Morley fans might recognize the tune…

Now is the month of maying,
Cats’ meals need no delaying,

Each on a bonny lap
Seeks tasty salmon frappe.

Our hungry appetite-ness
We cats lose our politeness,

And to can op’ner’s sound

Fie then! why sit we waiting,
When pate is a-plating?

No dainty nymphs – too sweet!
We’d rather have some meat.
