Update for Boots

Oh, my dear sponsors, Happy November!

It is once again growing dark and cold outside, and while I pity those of you who actually have to go out there, this sort of climate does make the perfect backdrop for snuggling up and contemplating the good things in life. And that is just what I’ve been doing!

Last month, you’ll remember, I got the all-clear to become an officially-more-adoptable cat. I still can’t quite process the idea that I might have my own forever home before too long.

This month, I had more good news – I am no longer being crated at night! Once upon a time, when I was less fully actualized, I had an unfortunate tendency to take out my frustrations on other cats. Now that I have grown into my superiority, I no longer (okay, very, very rarely) feel the need to beat another kitty down. And – sweet reward! – my improved behavior has earned me my freedom at night.

I’m bursting with gratitude and, naturally, song, and I penned a little tune just for you!

My Favorite Things

Blankets on couches and Friskies (not kittens),
Bright sunshine splotches and my pure white mittens,
Brown paper bags filled with fishes and things,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Pink colored salmon and flaky white tuna,
Crate-free night roamings out under the moon-a,
Dreams of Forever Home, where I’ll be king!
These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses who offer me skritches,
Good kitty friends who will never be snitches,
Kind, giving sponsors, who devotion bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When hunger bites,
When the vet stings,
When I’m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so bad!

I suddenly have the urge to craft kitty beds out of unfashionable yet perfectly serviceable curtains. I wonder what that’s about. At any rate, my dear friends, I wish you a lovely Thanksgiving holiday. You’re at the top of my “Things for Which to be Thankful” list!

Much love,
Boots
