Update for Boots

Happy February to our special sponsors of Boots!

It’s been an incredibly mild winter here in New Jersey – I even spotted a robin on February 1st (boy will she be sorry she got lulled into cutting that winter vacation short!). There are a lot of seasonal viruses going around and half the people in my office are out sick. Of course, everyone blames the weather (not germs), but it seems the cats are part of this winter sickness phenomena, too, our little Boots among them. Boots picked up an upper respiratory bug this month. Many of the residents of Tabby’s Place have picked up the same bug in the past few weeks and Boots seems at least to have avoided the worst of it – he just has a runny nose. We’re giving him a dietary supplement to help boost his immune system, so hopefully he can kick the bug without having to take any antibiotics. When I visited him last week, he seemed perfectly fine – not one little sneeze during my visit.

The past month has seen a number of adoptions of special needs cats – more special needs kitties got adopted than “regular” ones – including Boots’ roommate, Geoff. So now Boots doesn’t have anyone to pick on. We’re confident, however, that although Boots has been a real sweetheart of late, he’ll find another “victim” at some point. I’ve never witnessed him being a bad boy – every time I visit he’s as sweet as can be. But the staff sees him in his full array of moods, and they should know!

Thanks once again for your continued support of our little guy. He’s well and happy because of your generous support.
