Update for Boots

Happy New Year to Boots’ fans!

Boots is feeling well this month. In fact, the only “news” in Boots’ world is related to his brawls, not his health. Medically, Boots is doing just fine. Socially, he’s…um, well, keeping things “exciting” in the lobby.

This month, Boots has taken particular offense to Geoff, and the two will growl and circle each other like silverback gorillas. On one particularly comical occasion, a visitor delivered large catnip toys to all the lobby cats. Boots and Geoff each had their own personal toy, but neither could get over the indignity that the other one was having fun. Even as they played with their own toys, the boys growled at each other, glaring suspiciously just in case.

Boots’ fellow lobby-mate Jenny, despite her advanced age (15), has determined to suffer no fools, and she puts Boots in his place any time he attempts to tangle with her.

On a brighter note, I have such good news to report: Not one, but four (4!!!) Tabby’s Place Special Needs cats were adopted this month! Bellis (Boots’ blind lobby-mate), Jasper (the FIV+ cat for whom I also wrote) and two other FIV + cats, Thomas and Jimmy, have all found their forever homes, just in time for the new year.

Lesson for Boots: “You’re younger and definitely more handsome than those other cats who were adopted. Let’s cut out the brawling and pump up the charm to find yourself a loving home, too!” While Tabbys Place is a wonderful home, there’s no substitute for a loving human to coddle a cat and love him above all other felines.

Seriously, it was so heartwarming to write my last update for my sweet old pal, Jasper. After five years in the FIV+ Suite at Tabby’s Place, I never thought he would be adopted.(There’s hope for you, Boots!) Meanwhile, Boots and all his feline friends are so lucky to live there and have such loyal sponsors to love and help support them.

Wishing you a healthy, happy year from Boots and all the other lucky cats waiting for homes at Tabbys Place,
