Update for Beatrice

While getting to know “Sweet-Bea” this past month, I have come to some conclusions: She’s a lover AND a biter. Initially, as the new correspondent for Bea, I was warily regarded by the plump little thing. She made me work quite hard for her attention, and not-so-gently indicated to me when our time together had grown stale. However, there is a sweet charm to Bea (and a true love for a good scratch behind the ears) that assures me of a future bond between we two.

The first time I’d met Bea, she’d hid in her pyramid cubbie, ignoring my futile attempts to lure her out with a feather toy for several minutes. Being satisfied with my looking foolish, she eventually came out to play – she is a voracious hunter of feathery objects and her energy seems boundless! Alas, recently she’s been suffering some ear discomfort, which made her more of a curmudgeon than usual. While having her ear cleaned, she smacked and bit our vet!

Presently, when I visit Bea, she comes right out to see me and is more than obliging to bat around a feather toy or a jingling ball. She can sit still for several minutes if she’s getting a nice scratching on her neck and shoulders, and she is more willing to venture outside the safe cubbies when she has a visitor. She truly is a pleasure to get to know. With such a personality, my opinion is that she’s a prime candidate for adoption. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
