Update for Beatrice

This is Jonathan, President and Founder of Tabby’s Place.
Bea’s previous correspondent, Shannon, is unable to continued her writing duties, so I will be handling Bea’s updates until we find a new correspondent.

I am pleased to report that little Bea continues to come out of her shell.
In the past, one would only rarely see her out and about in the suite.
Instead, she was inevitably huddled up in one of the cubbies.
Now, I often walk by the room and see her walking around, just like a normal cat 🙂

As you will recall, Bea’s right eye has a torn 3rd eyelid and is prone to inflammation.
This eye flared up again recently, so one of our vets took a good look at the eye.
Upon closer examination, it appears that Bea’s 2rd eyelid may have adhesions at the top, which caused it to ’stick” to the eye, itself.

This isn’t a serious condition and there’s nothing to be done about it, but it seems that we may now have a better explanation of why this eye is problematic.
So, when we see the eye flare up, we now use a lubricant in her eye for a few days, which seems to clear the problem up quickly.

Little Bea is so cute, and now that she can be seen, we are hopeful that someone may adopt her.
We know that her inflammatory bowel disease lowers her odds of adoption, but we won’t give up hope.
