Update for Beatrice

Before I get to the update – A Happy New Year to all of Bea’s sponsors!

Well, a lot has happened in Bea’s suite since the last time I updated you on how our girl is doing. Bea’s longtime “roommate” Ozzie was adopted, leaving Bea and Rose the whole Special Needs suite to themselves. That, of course, didn’t last long. Two new cats, Chipper and Sandy, moved in together – they’re longtime buddies.

Well, I suppose, just like it is with people, once in a while the new roommate situation doesn’t work out. Unfortunately, Chipper’s personality didn’t quite mix with Rose and Bea, and our little Bea even got into a bit of a tussle with Chipper, getting her eye hurt just a little.

And, so, Chipper has moved on to another suite, and the calm has once returned to the Special Needs suite.

Bea continues to come out of her shell. Each Sunday when I am there I see her out of her cubby more and more. This past Sunday, she enjoyed petting and head scratches from my partner on morning rounds. After finishing rounds, I peeked in again, and she was out in the open, giving herself a bath. Before, after realizing she was being watched, Bea would run and hide in her cubby. This time, she didn’t seem to be scared at all!

I haven’t seen it with my own eyes, but one of my spy sources at Tabby’s Place has said Bea has been spotted enjoying naps curled up with her new roommate, Sandy. Maybe her new friend is helping her to open up! We shall see. But it’s so good to see Bea continuing to bloom.
