Update for Beatrice

Sigh … little Bea continues to be one of our most elusive cats.
She spends virtually all day hiding in her little cubby hole, typically coming out only at night.
Every once in a while, someone will spot her “out and about” during the day, but such sightings are rare.
We’re starting to think of her as our own “Loch Ness monster” (though she is much cuter).

We were going to have some volunteers spend extra time in the Special Needs Suite working on socialization with Bea.
But, we have had some problems with ringworm during the past month and we quarantined the Suite in hopes of keeping the infection out of there.

Unfortunately, our efforts were in vain, as the four cats in her suite have ringworm.
Ringworm is actually a highly contagious fungus and not a worm of any kind.
While it is not medically serious, ringworm is very difficult to kill and Bea’s suite will be quarantined until their treatment is complete (which will take about one month).

So, please keep a good thought for little Bea and her suite-mates for the next month, at which time we hope that the ringworm threat will be gone and we can resume socialization with Bea.
