Update for Beatrice

Sweet Bea had us all in an uproar over the lump found in her neck, (and understandably so) – however, our fears have abated as Bea’s biopsy showed the tumor was benign!!!

She continues to be the pleasant and spunky Bea we have all grown to know and love. Furthermore, her people skills continue to flourish. She loves company and can be easily lured out of her hiding places with the mere call of her name. I’ve noticed as of late, Bea has grown more affectionate than ever before. Whereas she used to be timid, sniffing out her company and then scuttling away to the safety of her cubby, she now will linger in the open and rub her cheek and shoulders against a visitor’s knee.

That said, she is still quite the personality (with many adorable quirks). I’ve noticed that for Bea, too much of anything is a bad thing – and warrants a toothy nip. She appreciates a scratching behind the ears, but tires of it quickly, so one must always have a feather toy on hand to divert her attention to something more stimulating. She loves to be active, chasing toys and scooting around after a fuzzy mouse or jingling ball, but only for a few minutes at a time. In the flurry of activity, she takes a pensive pause, as if she is thinking of something that is all too important. Hence, a cycle of activity has developed. Another interesting tid-bit: Bea has been spotted atop the cubbies, which means the little round thing has the ability to jump! When I arrive for playtime, Bea always seems fairly grounded – I am thrilled to learn that she can hop up on things and use those little muscles! Until next time…
