Update for Bandit

Update for Bandit

Dear Bandit supporters,

Back in January, you received a Special Update on Bandit, which detailed his lymphoma diagnosis and explained his chemotherapy treatment. I’m happy to report that our little guy’s health is holding up quite well. So why, you may ask, am I sending out yet another Special Update for Bandit? Has this sweet kitty had an additional medical setback?

In fact, I could not be any happier to be writing you today, as I have the best possible news to report: Bandit has found a forever home! While this does mean that you’ll no longer be sponsoring this wonderful boy whom we’ve all grown to adore, and that you won’t be receiving any further updates on which toy (mouse, shoelace, other cat’s tail) he’s favored each month, I do hope you’ll share my excitement at what a fortunate turn of events has taken place for Bandit.

Adult cats, as loving and lovable as they are, are not always the most adoptable of felines, particularly those who require extra medical attention. So a cat undergoing chemotherapy would seem an especially hard sell. But, in that strange way in which fate sometimes works, Steph, the Tabby’s Place vet tech, has gotten to know Bandit so well as she’s been attending to his medical needs, and has apparently fallen so in love with him that she’s decided to adopt him!

Clearly, Steph has an incredibly big heart to take on this special kitty; as it turns out, it’s so big that there’s even space for Bandit’s best buddy, Sneakers! Yes, Bandit’s dearest friend will be fostered, so though Sneaks will technically remain a Tabby’s Place cat (meaning his healthcare will still be sponsored by such generous folks as yourselves and by Tabby’s Place), for all intents and purposes he and Bandit have already nestled into their final forever home. These boys made the big move over a week ago, and I hear that they are doing extremely well and are loving life!

You may remember that Bandit came to us through the Guardian Angel Program, and while his recent health problems have been heartbreaking, it’s quite clear that our beloved black-and-white boy truly does have a guardian angel on his shoulder. There is no doubt that he’ll be missed at Tabby’s Place, but Bandit has been given the most extraordinary gift of all: a home.

Thanks to you, his sponsors, for helping him get there. What a blessing it’s been to get to know him and his sweet ways, and to know that he’ll be loved dearly for the rest of his life. It’s a “happily ever after” ending to Bandit’s fairytale!

As per our policy, we have transferred your monthly sponsorship to our Special Needs Fund, which helps support all of our Special Needs cats. As a supporter of the Special Needs Fund, you will receive an update on a different Special Needs cat each month. However, you may choose to do one of the following:

Transfer your sponsorship to support another Special Needs cat. You can see all of our Special Needs cats here. If you wish to do this, please contact us by email and let us know your wishes.

You may choose to discontinue your monthly sponsorship. To do so, please contact us by phone with your request.

We do hope that you decide to continue supporting our cats in need. But, whatever you do, thank you for caring about Bandit.
