Update for Bagheera

I was wondering what I was going to talk about this month because nothing seemed to be new. However, the other day Bagheera and I went for a walk outside. It was a very windy day and he doesn’t like it when it’s too windy. All of a sudden I heard what I thought was leaves rustling. Bagheera knew different. . . he stopped, his ears went forward, and he bent down as if trying to look under the brush. He moved to the side a little and sniffed the air then looked again in the brush. We walked around the landscaping and he again sniffed the air and bent down to look under the brush. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Staring at us was a little grey field mouse. Bagheera was so funny — he just stood there and stared back at it for the longest time. A couple of people came by and he would ordinarily go toward them for some attention. Not this time, he was focused on his prey. I finally nudged him back to the front door and he went in. I thought it was fantastic that he was able to sniff out a mouse just like any other cat would. Once inside, Bagheera went to sleep. Whew, what a time he had.

I couldn’t resist including the Halloween picture of Bags (as we affectionately call him). After all, what is Halloween without a black cat’ A handsome one at that!

On a more somber note, Bagheera hasn’t been feeling very well the last couple of days. He is suffering from another urinary tract infection. He was constipated as well as nauseated. He didn’t even take any interest in wet food, so you KNOW he wasn’t feeling well. We administered two enemas and also put him on antibiotics, and thankfully he made a nice turnaround in a single day. He continues to be on the medication until we are sure his urinary tract infection has completely cleared up.

Thanks again for sponsoring Bagheera and please feel free to stop by and say hi! Have a purrfectly great day.
