Update for Babs

Update for Babs

Greetings dear sponsors,

Babs’ serene Community Room once again has been invaded by kittens.

Due in a large part to our ongoing Trap-Neuter-Release Program, nearly 30 kittens have graced Tabby’s Place from May through this month. At this writing, many have been adopted or placed on hold for adoption.

Of course, the curious and energetic little ones have turned life upside down for the older cats. Babs has done a good job of either ignoring the kittens or hissing at them when they get too close.

During one of my visits, Babs had a change of heart for a particular kitten named Sven (now adopted). Since his arrival in the Community Room, little Sven had tried to make friends with Babs. She wanted no part of his affection. I don’t know if she had gotten used to the kittens or just gave in to his persistent need for her attention. That day, she allowed Sven to share her lunch.

Babs had eaten her fill when Sven joined her to have some of the leftovers. She accepted him without swatting or hissing.

After that encounter, she did need a drink. Then she settled in a bed on the conference table for a long nap.

Happily, this month there are no new medical issues to report for Babs. She looks good. She loves to be petted and spoken to.

Babs and I thank you so much for your kindness. Your caring generosity helps Tabby’s Place in so many ways.

We hope that you have enjoyed this update, and we wish all the best.
