Update for Adam

It’s May, friends!  Adam and I are so happy that spring has arrived and hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather.

Adam had a wonderful month.  Some additional volunteers were allowed back into the building in recent weeks to help with all of the jobs that have been done for almost a year by a small crew of volunteers and our intrepid staff members.  What they have been through this year is nothing short of amazing!  I am one of those lucky volunteers who is back to do suite cleaning and morning feeding!  It is so wonderful to be back in the building and interacting with the cats and people once again.  Adam is enjoying seeing new people each day.

In health news, Adam was noted to have some clear nasal discharge this month and started on an antiviral medication.  He seemed quite bothered by his ears and an examination showed a yeast infection.  He started on a long-acting ointment and seems much more comfortable.  He’s never been a fan of daily drops, so this treatment suits him just fine.  The infection is almost gone as of this update.

I have been cleaning Suite A the last two weeks and have seen some fun changes to Adam’s behavior since I last cleaned the room in August.  Adam is a riot when the cleaning is being done.  He is so curious and has to have his little nose in everything.  I cleaned one of the crates that Wonton sleeps in overnight and as soon as I was done, Adam hopped in and curled up as if I had gold plated an invitation for him.  I had to chase him out though because I wasn’t quite finished fluffing the blankets!  He did this both weeks.  Silly boy!

Adam also enjoyed the addition of a new roommate, Carbon.  Carbon is a sweet black kitty and Adam is very interested in all that Carbon is doing.  While I was cleaning Carbon’s overnight crate, Adam sat on top of it watching me very intently.  I would reach up and pet him from time to time and Adam loved it.  It is so nice to be able to pet him without him swatting or being otherwise bratty.  He has come such a long way since his early days at Tabby’s Place.

Adam is still partaking in stroller rides on nice days and enjoying the solarium and the stroller ride sunshine.  He loves to sniff the air and check out all that is going on around him.  He is so unbelievably cute when he is out and about in the stroller, enjoying the breeze through his fur and the songs of the birds.

Adam and I wish you a lovely month of enjoying the breeze and the songs of the birds.  Spring is here and it feels like the world is renewing itself.  It has been a long road but the promise of summer is bringing hope.  Adam and I appreciate all of the hope that you bring to the kitties of Tabby’s Place every day with your generosity.  It is greatly appreciated and has brought a beacon of light these past months.  Have a wonderful May!
